ASAP Rocky, an American rapper, has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts, ahead of his forthcoming trial.

ASAP Rocky, 35 (born Rakim Mayers), pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic pistol at his Monday arraignment. Rocky is accused of firing a semiautomatic handgun at his former friend ASAP Relli (real name Terell Ephron) in November 2021.

ASAP Rocky is scheduled to return to court on March 6 for a pretrial conference.

During the arraignment, the rapper also declined to have his rights read aloud.

After the arrest, defence attorney Joe Tacopina told reporters that Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, is “cool as a cucumber” ahead of trial.

He further stated that Rocky, who has two kids, RZA (19 months) and Riot Rose (5 months), with pop singer Rihanna, was eager to get the trial “over with so he can start enjoying his family.”

The next hearing for the 35-year-old “Praise the Lord” rapper, who pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a handgun in August 2022, is planned for March 6.
